For the purposes of this site, the term “design” is broadly applied, including graphic, interaction, web, and many other design disciplines.

Here, design refers to the interdisciplinary and conscious planning of a tool, web site, product, or online branding solution to enhance its beauty, effectiveness, and functionality.

This definition includes conscious planning in a variety of disciplines. One cannot create a truly beautiful graphic design without understanding the nature of the tool to which it will be applied, just as one cannot effectively design the functionality of that tool without considering the emotions the user is experiencing while viewing its graphic elements.

Morphemic.net designs also draw strongly upon the concept of beautiful, elegant simplicity in design. Too often, designers inject a confusing array of technological bells and whistles into a product without considering that it is primarily a tool which must support the natural thought processes of human beings. Morphemic.net designs focus on assisting users complete tasks as elegantly, attractively, and simply as possible.
